So I had the pleasure of attending the Burlington Wine and Food Festival this past Saturday for the first time (thanks Key Bank for the two entry passes). It was a beautiful day in Burlington and I looked forward to just being on the water as I don't get a lot of free time to enjoy what Vermont has to offer. I didn't enjoy everything going on as I am not a wine connoisseur, I just enjoyed trying a bunch of wine, some amazing local foods and the great atmosphere as local food is paired with world class wines...but honestly I can't tell the difference between $5.99 wine and the wine I was tasting here.
Some of the highlights for me were not the wine actually but the food, some amazing local eateries or just some local independents trying to make a name for themselves. Squirrel Stash nuts was number one for me as they offer some of the tastiest peanuts, almonds, cashews you name it I have ever had. Little steep in price but totally worth it. Also was Pitchfork Preserves that offer some amazing jelly's, and Bijou Sweet as they offer some of the most delicate, melt in your mouth chocolates I have ever had! I have some links below for a couple off these companies, I would highly recommend trying them!
