Christmas Seems To Be Coming Earlier And Earlier

Why does society seem to be pushing Christmas shopping more and more each year...and this year it has been worse then ever! Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas, but for reasons besides trying to buy every senseless gift for everyone around me and be the first person to do it. We started seeing Christmas ads before we even got to Halloween this year...now that's a bit much. Not only are they pushing Christmas months before so people will spend more and more money, but they are even changing traditions. Now, its not the traditions of the Holiday per say, but its a little thing called black Friday which everyone knows is the day after Thanksgiving to kick of the shopping season. This has been in place for as long as I can remember, but the corporate word has decided that they needed to battle to get a jump on one another. So what did they do, some stores are starting the big 'sales' day the day before to try and beat out the other stores! How far does it go, will it ever stop? No, because this generation is a generation of spending money on anything and everything, so that's all the kids off the time know which is sad. How about less spending for everyone, and more time with family? This would help the economy by having people not spending the money they don't have, getting farther into debt and then looking for 'help' from the government in some way down the road. Not really meant to be a rant, as most of my blogs are a bit more upbeat, but with the holidays here, I say focus on family, not presents. Picture credit: #paulvarrichione
