The eighth annual Festival of Fools comes to Burlington this weekend. Starting tonight July 31st and going through Sunday there will be an array of fun theatrical street performers flooding downtown. Acts, including 14 musicians will spread out all throughout Church St. in Burlington and City Hall Park to entertain people of all ages. This family friendly weekend will consist of Circus Arts, music, comedy shows and plays and provide entertainment like no other. Most events are free aside from some special events including a ferry ride with music and entertainment aka The Ship of Fools, Full Moon Masquerade and a few other shows/events that do have a marginal fee. Last year I took my four year old son and he had a blast. He especially love the “Kid’s Rock the Park” event that starts on Sunday at Noon in City Hall Park and goes until 5:30. There is non-stop entertainment during this time including two big performing stages, the Big Blue Trunk will have fun dress up items and there will be balloons and face painting. Lots of interactive entertainment. I highly recommend this event. A full schedule of events can be found at the link below.
If you have kiddos or just like to be entertained you will not be disappointed with the Festival of Fools. Stop down and make time to laugh!
