What is it about summer that you
love? Is it swimming? Biking? Beach time? Well for many people the end
all for summer time fun is getting friends and family together for a good bbq.
If this is you and your idea of a great time is throwing some juicy steaks,
delicious kababs, perhaps tasty cheese burgers or hotdogs on the grill then
picking the right condo and knowing what restriction they might have in
regards to grilling is going to be hugely important for you. Were you aware that the fire code
states that the grill needs to be 10 feet away from your condo? And depending on which condo development you
buy into they just might have restrictions specified in their rules and
regulations on whether you are able to grill those juicy burgers on your own
deck. A misconception amongst some homebuyers is that the only condos
that may not allow bbqing on the decks are the high rises such as Eastwood
Commons and Lancaster Condominiums in South Burlington or River Watch and even the
high end College and Battery in Burlington but that is just not the case.
Several townhouse style condo developments also have restrictions on grilling
on the decks or balconies and are enforcing this rule with the homeowners. Offhand some of the associations that have
and enforce these restrictions are Stonehedge and the Landings in South
Burlington and Harborwatch in Burlington. When this happens most home owners are
allowed to put their grills on the grass off of the deck or the development
might have a designated grilling area and some might even supply the
grills. I don't know about you but for me,
grilling is a must and this restriction would most definitely be a
consideration in my home buying process.
To be sure you are able to grill this summer and any summer thereafter
be sure to consult your Realtor about what restrictions might be in place for
each condo development that you are considering.
